A.V. Undercover: Great cover of The Beach Boys "Kokomo"

Retribution Gospel Choir is a side project of Alan Sparhawk of Low, a band that has released ten or so critically-acclaimed albums over the past 15 years. Low's live show was notable, especially in their early days, for the fact that they played extremely quiet music in front of audiences that were used to big, loud rock bands. When Low played at the venue I worked at in the mid-90s, my job for the duration of their set was to approach audience members who were talking and ask them to keep their voices down. So, given that history, when Retribution Gospel Choir came to the Onion offices, I expected them to be self-important, arrogant douchebags. Alas, my instinct couldn't have been more incorrect. Not only are Alan, Steve and Eric extremely congenial people, their performance of 'Kokomo' is probably my favorite A.V. Club episode to date.
